Although more than two hundred years have passed since 1805 during which Bible Societies have been working in Spain on the translation and distribution of the Bible, it was in 1839, with the arrival of George Borrow as the first official agent of the SBBE in Spain, that the Bible Society was permanently and continuously established in our country to this day.

Thus, in 2011, no less than 175 years of history were celebrated by what we could call the Bible Society of Spain, making it the most deeply rooted evangelical organization in our country. But the history of Bible Societies in Spain and the world could not be told without mentioning the Colporteurs.
