BIBLIA NRV 2000
DESCRIPTION
Complete version of the Bible in its updated 2000 version, with black and white maps.
At the end of 2020, the South American Publishing House Association (ACES) published the Updated Reina-Valera 2000 Bible. This is a revision of the Reina-Valera 2000 version. For over a year, dedicated efforts were made to achieve improvements in the edition that would allow for clearer and easier reading, without making significant changes to the current text.
The Reina-Valera is one of the most frequently used Spanish translations of the Bible among Spanish-speaking Protestants. This Bible contains the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.
1. Adaptation to Latin American Spanish
This was the most notable change.
• The “vosotros”: The main novelty of this version is the change from the pronoun “vosotros” to the pronoun “ustedes,” which is the one used naturally in everyday speech in Latin America.
2. Textual Regulation
• Improvements were made to the wording of grammatically incorrect phrases or those that did not accurately reflect the original Hebrew or Greek text.
• The punctuation was completely reviewed and corrected to achieve a more fluid and natural text.
• The consistency of names of people and cities was adjusted.
• Paragraphs with obvious changes in topic were divided.
• All subheadings were adjusted.
• Parenthetical clarifications explaining weights, measures, dates, or names were reviewed. • In total, approximately 1,100 modifications were made (in addition to the change to "vosotros"), consisting of spelling and grammatical corrections and adjustments to the internal consistency of key terms, among others. • Around one-third of the Bible was written in the literary genre of poetry. Therefore, this edition features a layout that gives greater visibility to the poetry, allowing for a clear distinction between it and the prose writing. • A special typeface, specifically designed for Bibles, was used, created by a world-renowned typographic studio specializing in Bible publishing. As a result, a highly elegant presentation of the text has been achieved, which should always be commensurate with the precious message it contains. 3. The Final Revision • A double revision of the entire text of the Bible was carried out. This ensured that the text is complete and has no omissions or unjustified variations. Throughout the work, meticulous attention was paid to the original Hebrew and Greek texts. • We have enormous confidence in this updated Reina-Valera 2000, and we recommend it to our church brothers and sisters for use as a personal study Bible, to give to friends and new Bible students, or to have in churches for use in worship services and evangelistic campaigns.
