Throughout history, humankind has recognized the universality of evil and has consistently lamented its terrifying nature. This scandal has raised the most burning questions, generally implicating God... sometimes even to the point of insulting Him! Even today, most people face unbearable suffering and inevitably ask themselves this question: How, indeed, can evil be reconciled with God's goodness? Countless scientists, philosophers, and theologians have tried to grasp this problem of evil and its expression, suffering! Drawing extensively on the work of some of these scholars, the reflections in this essay lead the authors to distinguish four main possible approaches to this problem and, above all, to discover, through the Bible, the true answer of hope that God offers.
