This is a story of the Old West. Thad Conway, the central character, lived with his parents in Texas, in a region that in 1863 was the frontier of civilization. The constant attacks by the Comanche Indians and the cruelty they showed toward the settlers instilled in Thad a deadly hatred for these Indians. How could he love such murderers? Then he went through a harsh but valuable experience that taught him precious lessons.
