DESCRIPCIÓN
“When we say that God is late, even if we blame this delay on ourselves, we denigrate the Almighty and lower Him to our level. We can suspect people of lack of punctuality, but not the Ruler of the universe.”
Here are a series of crucial questions to which the author offers a clear answer:
- Is the return of Jesus an event with a fixed or variable date?
- Is it in our power to hasten His coming?
- Has God postponed the harvest?
- Who can say “what time is it”?
Arnold Valentin Wallenkampf dedicated his life to a clear mission – that of fixing in the minds of all receptive ones the eternal truth of salvation. Originally from Sweden, he initially studied in England, at Newbold College, then continued his studies in the United States, at Andrews University and the University of California. He worked first as a pastor, then as a professor of religion and church history, and later as head of the Department of Theology at Pacific Union College, Loma Linda University and Atlantic Union College. Before retiring from activity, he was associate director at the Biblical Research Institute (BRI).
Wallenkampf's remarkable editorial activity includes articles published in various Adventist magazines (in Romanian, in Curierul Adventist), biblical studies (quarter II/2006, with the title Duhul Sfânt), as well as numerous books on religious themes, which vary both in the subject addressed and in the way of exposition. Of these, in Romanian it was considered opportune to publish in a series of three volumes of interest to contemporary Adventism:
- The Apparent Delay (what role did we play in influencing the return of Jesus)
- What Every Adventist Should Know About 1888 (a review of the events and debates that made the Minneapolis General Conference Session so important for the history of the Adventist Church)
- What Every Christian Should Know About Justification (an A to Z explanation of how we have the privilege of a perfect relationship with God)
