Why is it necessary for us to read this book? Because the Adventist Church has been called to be a bulwark of religious liberty worldwide: "The banner of truth and religious liberty displayed by the founders of the evangelical church and by God's witnesses during the centuries since was, in this last conflict, committed to our hands" (Ellen G. White, The Acts of the Apostles, pp. 68, 69).

But also, because we need to find balance when dealing with these issues. Rather than taking a position, we believe it is best for the reader to analyze Ellen G. White's writings presented in this book, with the goal of extracting principles and establishing their own position on the subject. Tumultuous times are approaching, and it is necessary for everyone to have a clear and decisive stand on these matters.
