There is no more important purpose for the believer than to be nourished by biblical truths that can create in their mind the miracle of faith. This challenge to seek God's presence was expressed several times in the writings of Ellen G. White: "Many, even in their moments of devotion, do not receive the blessing of true communion with God. They are too pressed. With hurried steps they enter into the loving presence of Christ and perhaps pause a moment within that sacred precinct, but they do not wait for counsel... Our need is not to pause a moment in His presence, but to have a personal relationship with Christ, to sit in His company" (Education, p. 254).

Our High Calling was first published as the 1962 devotional book. It contains material that never appeared in other books in any language and numerous texts that have never been translated into Spanish.
