The Lord wants us to be poor in spirit but rich in goodness, love, compassion, and mercy. The gospel is not an ideology or a philosophy, nor merely a doctrine to accept; it is a lifestyle to practice, it is love in action. But not a compulsive, sporadic action; rather, one that, born from a heart of flesh, has a clear and defined purpose: the salvation of souls. The ministry of kindness guides us so that our service to our neighbor, and especially to the most disadvantaged, may be, at all times and in all circumstances, the service that Jesus would offer, and carried out with the same spirit of kindness as He.
