DESCRIPCIÓN

This book provides coherent answers to the problems of faith in all its dimensions. It addresses both difficult questions and the inevitable crises of faith. A well-written and well-documented book, it offers a comprehensive, fresh, and coherent perspective on the confrontation between science and faith.

The advancement of science in the 20th century has led 21st-century humanity into a spiral of questions, prompting a simplistic summary of its doubts: God does not exist because He is no longer necessary to explain the wonders of nature.

Today, the confrontation between science and faith is clearly defined, as is society itself: divided between belief and disbelief.

Will we turn our backs on science because it is perceived as a threat to God?

Will we turn our backs on faith, admitting that science is cornering religion?

These are difficult times for believers. But perhaps for that very reason, they are exciting times for the search for an authentic and dynamic faith.

A personal, internalized, and experienced faith, strong enough to engage in debate with a society that has ceased to believe in transcendence. The author's thesis is that the crisis facing the Christian faith in the 21st century is neither accidental nor has it suddenly befallen us without warning. It was already present in the 20th century and has its roots in earlier times. The elements that have led us to the current confrontation have deep roots and have developed gradually. It is therefore in our best interest to understand their history and analyze them thoroughly. To confront the current "attacks" of science, the author argues, the Christian faith must change its past attitudes, marked by "staticity," "contemplation," and "mysticism," for a dynamic attitude of participation that offers concrete proposals to society. That is, through contemporary evangelizing action that energizes the experience of the gospel in the face of hedonism, the loss of values, indifference towards ideals of any kind, and the egocentrism rooted in our society.
