Why dedicate time to responding to the Davidian dissenters?

In the same way, if church members don't identify the symptoms of Davidian dissent, they will never be able to identify it or know how to confront it. This book has the dual purpose of helping Seventh-day Adventists confirm and strengthen their faith in the Word of God, and clarifying the doubts of those who have been caught in the nets of the dissenters.

Understanding the origin of dissent in the Adventist Church and the strategies and methodology of the dissident groups preserves us from heresy and gives us the biblical information necessary to consolidate the unity of the church.
