Paul's letters to the Thessalonians are among the earliest writings containing the teachings of the apostles. They address several topics and contain the embryonic elements of the Christian faith. However, the subject Paul emphasizes most, and which motivates him to send these letters, is the return of Christ. These precious testimonies of Paul were not only intended to teach. Like a good shepherd, he wanted to comfort and reassure the Christians of the young community in Thessalonica. He showed them that Christian hope transcends even death and that nothing can deprive us of the wonderful things God has planned for those he loves.
