DESCRIPTION
Internal missionary work, effective methods of approaching white areas, publications and their dissemination work, work in the cities, the involvement of lay people in various branches of activity, work in the health sector, work for the marginalized, religious freedom, the need for unity, faithfulness in administration are the themes addressed in this volume of Testimonies for the Church. If we did not know that these messages were written in the period 1904-1909, so over 100 years ago, we might think that we have before us a list of priorities in the plans and projects of the Church in Romania in these days.
Some of the testimonies contained in this volume were given by Ellen White on the occasion of her last participation in a General Conference Session, in 1909, when she was almost 80 years old. The work begun with a handful of believers and organized in 1863 under the direction of a committee of three had grown wonderfully—85,000 members, 1,200 ministers, and the General Conference was organized into departments, divisions, and unions, thus dividing the burden of responsibility among those in the fields in different parts of the world. In all this it was plainly seen how God had led the Church and His work step by step, by counsel, exhortation, reproof, encouragement, and revelation given at the proper time through His chosen messenger.
The "word of prophecy made stronger" by these very fruit-bearing fulfillments that are seen is now placed in the hands of those who will heed it.
