The author was twenty-two years old when he became a pastor in Lyon, in the midst of the war. Certain of his calling and a dedicated volunteer, he continued his ministry until 1954. A prescription for a drug, Stalinon, which proved harmful, plunged him into a deep coma from which he miraculously emerged, but which left him paraplegic.
