Before departing from this world, Jesus told his disciples, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). To fulfill this mission, the disciples had to overcome centuries of racial, religious, and cultural prejudice; they tore down walls of separation. They accomplished this feat because they were given the Holy Spirit.
